COME UP WITH A LOGO for National Youth Week and you could win yourself $2000.  The runner up will receive $750.

Your design can be in any form - draw it, paint it or graphic design it - technical design ability is not essential!

Deadline for submissions is 31 March 1998.

NATIONAL YOUTH WEEK is a Commonwealth, State and Territory Government initiative.

1. Read the TERMS & CONDITIONS before sending in your entry.
2. If you send in more than one entry you must attach a separate ENTRY FORM to each one.
3. Make sure you complete the DECLARATION for each entry
4. Attach the ENTRY FORM WITH DECLARATION to the back of each entry.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Information on prizes and how to enter and any other details relating to the National Youth Week Logo Competition form part of these Terms and Conditions.  All entrants must agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. To be eligible entrants must be between 12 and 21 years of age at 31 March 1998 (supply proof of age) and an Australian citizen or resident.  Officers and employees of the Department of Employment, Education, Training, Youth Affairs and their families are not eligible to enter.

3. All entries must include an entry form (photocopies are acceptable) and must be signed by the entrant.  If the entrant's is under the age of 18 years the entry must also be signed by the entrants parent or guardian.

4. All entries must be a minimum of A4 and a maximum of A3 in size.  The logo must be representative of the aims of National Youth Week, which are to celebrate young people's achievements and promote a community focus on issues concerning young people.  Design can be in any form eg. Drawing, painting or graphic design.  All entries must be the original artwork of the entrant.

6. ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY 31 MARCH 1998.  ENTRIES WILL NOT BE RETURNED AND WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE COMMONWEALTH.

7. Selection of the winning entry and the runner-up entry will be based on artistic merit as determined by a judging committee co-ordinated by the Commonwealth.

8. The decision of the judging committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. The entrant who submits the winning entry will receive a prize of $2,000 from the Commonwealth.  The entrant who submits the runner-up will receive a prize of $750 from the Commonwealth.

10. The Commonwealth will determine in its absolute discretion which entries will be displayed on the Youth Web site The Source and as it deems appropriate.

11. Entrants will be notified by mail if their entry is selected as the winning entry, the runner-up entry or for placement on the Youth Web site The Source.

12. By submitting an entry, entrants grant the Commonwealth a permanent, irrevocable royalty-free, non-exclusive licence (including a right of sublicence) to use, reproduce, adapt and exploit the entry anywhere in the world.  Not withstanding Part VII of the Copyright Act 1968, publication of an entry in accordance with this licence shall not affect the ownership of intellectual property in that entry.

13. Intellectual Property, including, but not limited to, copyright, in the winning entry and the runner-up entry is assigned to the Commonwealth when the judging committee makes its decision.

14. Entrants shall indemnify the Commonwealth from any loss suffered by the Commonwealth arising from a demand by any person in respect of any infringement of intellectual property rights by the entrant in submitting the entry or by the Commonwealth in the use of the entry.

15. The Commonwealth shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained as a result of this competition.
