SYDNEY FRINGE FESTIVAL SANDSCULPTURE DAY
For last year's Sandsculpture day, sculptors Joris Everaerts and Alison Cloustor engaged a throng of enthusiastic beach-going helpers. Together, like archaeologists, they unearthed long-buried stories of Bondi's Aboriginal past and seven three-metre vessels they had cast direct into the beach sands. Erected at sunset, the plaster forms stood like standing stones or surfboards. The artists return this year to extend the possibilities of beach sand-casting and ephemeral public sculpture. All are welcome!
