How did you begin graffiting ?

Through seeing the movies Beat Street, Style Wars, and the books Spraycan Art, by Henry Chalfant and James Prigoff, and Subway Art, by Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant. Plus the whole Hip Hop explosion in the early 80s.

What paints do you use ?

Krylon, and Belton. Belton is the nicest paint, but it's a bit hard to get in Australia. It's from Germany.

Have you been in trouble with the law ?

I've been arrested and charged a few times for graffiti.
But never major trouble.

Any good chase stories ?

Plenty, but I don't really want to disclose.

Do you see any differences between graffiti in Sydney and graffiti in other parts of the world ?

In Sydney there ís not a lot of focus on doing graffiti as an art. Sydney is a tough city, there's a lot of kids rivalling one another, it's mostly tagging. We are only now starting to do big murals and collaborating with one another.

Has graffiti changed in Sydney over the past ten years ?

It's not concentrated on the trains anymore. The focus is changing from the trains to the streets. The quality has improved over time.

Who are your influences ?

I'm influenced by Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Wayne, Dero, Dondi, mainly by street artists. I like the energy behind their work. My influences change.

Have you been through art school ?

I did graphic design at Randwick for two years. Worked for a graphic design company for a while, then travelled.

What other interest do you have besides graffiti ?

Movies, music, fashion, visual arts, all aspects of the media, many of things.

What do you see yourself doing in 10 years time ?

Painting for sure. Owning something worthwhile. I like to eventually own a studio where I can paint, not just graffiti but other art as well.
