Evolver represents a year in the life of Newcastle's youth: a wildly eclectic mix of art, writing, reviews, photographs and Web experiments. There's also an extensive directory of Newcastle bands, cultural pages on local Aboriginal issues, op shop guides, billboard art, toilet door philosophies and a list of Web pages for community groups. E-works
e-works drags Australia's best young Web designers, artists and experimenting computer geeks out of their bedrooms and garages and into the public eye. What would you do with $500 and boundless enthusiasm? The e-workers have created interactive sound sites, online comic books, video interactives and sites for unsigned young bands. e-works utilises real audio, video, Shockwave, Quicktime and anything else viewable through a computer screen. Gannon's Forest Gothic
A vibrant mixture of popular youth culture and new technology, Gannon's Forest Gothic is a high-tech adventure, chasing a ghost through the corridors of Shopfront Theatre and down the virtual pathways of the Internet. Shopfront's resident ghost, Norm, has been rattling doors, banging walls and interfering with the electrics for the past 25 years. Norm is like a Web page on the Internet: he exists without existing in the physical world. Follow Norm through the shadows and phantoms of past mysteries and events. The Village Online Short Film Festival
Australia's first national online short film festival is a postcard sized window on the works of some of Australia's best young up-and-coming filmmakers. Village Roadshow has given young filmmakers from around Australia the chance to show their weird, wild and wonderful shorts to the world. Using Real Media technology, these fragments of film culture can be viewed via your Web browser.
