Sometimes 13 year olds have more insight into human nature and mythology than many of our own politicians. Did You Hear The One About? is a collection of four short films which debunk many popular myths and tall tales that surround youth, racism and prejudice in Australia.

 Did you hear the one about? is one feature of eat LOUD carpet, which will also include short dramas, documentaries and experimental films. Hosting the show and chatting to the young filmmakers will be 16 year old Elmo Keep.

Goth to be Greek

 Tim Slade (24) and Andrew Georgiou (25) debunk the myth that love can't be found between all generations and cultures. Georgiou is a veteran of several no-budget films, he believes the most important ingredient in any film is a sense of humour. "If you don't enjoy what you're doing, it comes out in the film."

 Bad News

 Director Sofya Gollan (28) explores the notion that to be deaf is a disability. Gollan began her acting career with The Australian Theatre for the Deaf before studying at NIDA. Her short films have been shown in international film festivals.

 How Black is Black?

 How does the colour of your skin determine your identity? What happens if you are Aboriginal but don't have dark skin? Jade Woods (13) explores the myth that if you're white, you're not black.

 Skater, Homie, Skeggy, Wog

 South Sydney brothers Andrew (16) and Brendan (14) Dowell expose myths about youth subcultures in South Sydney. According to Andrew, the Georges River is a cultural divide with the homies of Hurstville on one side and Sutherland Shire's ("the insular peninsula") skaters on the other.
