Chains
a work of Poetry by Aubentide (Brioni D.)
This poem is basically about how being young can take away so much of your freedom, even though people say they trust you, they really don't. Its about how stereotyping can wrap chains around somebody and make them feel locked inside.
I've been chained to these grounds before.
I've just learnt to live with them.
These iron bands
Collapsing feeling to a piont where its easier
To close your eyes
And drift silently from day to day
It'll be over soon. Sure of it.
In times where others' thoughts
Opinions, orders, expectation, power,
Chain you to tiresome depletedness.
Have I not feeling?
Matters are ageless
As age is matterless.
Tomorrow I am as old as yesterday.
In 10 years I am as old as now.
The only difference is
The body which these chains suffocate.
I make mistakes
Then I take the responsibilities.
Let me free from chaining worriness
Of yours
And let me grow from my
Own faults.
Because I'm too scared to venture;
Scared what links are set in you
Chains.
Scared of others' thoughts
Opinions, orders, expectations, power.
That chain me to tiresome depletedness.
I've been chained to these grounds before,
And I haven't learnt how to deal with it.
