Tobias De Maine recognises that he has been immersed
in technology - playing computer games and watching
television - all his life. He was formally introduced to
digital art in his first year at the the Queensland
College of Art, where he experimented with digital
photography on an Amiga. He is currently studying at the
Queensland University of Technology and the Southern
Cross University, where he can take advantage of well
resourced facilities.
For Tobias, digital art offers him with possibilties that
physical art doesn't. He is very interested in the idea
of interaction - digital art enables him to create an
image and sound experience that affects the audience in
new ways.
As well as digital art, his interests include making
music, bush walking and fixing computers. And what is
Tobias's mission in life : to document what he sees, be
inspired through his art, and be happy and at peace with
himself.
