| Keate Barker is currently studying photography and
digital imaging (Bachelor of Visual Communication) at UWS
Macarthur and has produced the images presented here over
the past 3 years. Keate is a Pisces, and he wants to explain his creativity through astrology: "Pisceans tend to absorb emotional energy rather like a sponge and eventually, it seeps out in the form of nervous energy and a desire to retreat into the world of imagination. This is why Pisceans are often prone to over indulge their senses in an attempt to escape from their own sensitivity. They love to fantasise." Keate uses photography, digital imaging and design to make his mental pictures a reality. Most of the time he achieve this mental realisation, although at times, through the use of these three mediums, he can create a an image far greater than he could have ever imagined - this is his fix. The satisfaction and the pleasure that he gets from creating images is so great he needs the next image to satisfy more than the last one. Keate is a creative junkie. |
