Arena = Television

Television is the most powerful mass communications medium on the planet. Immediate, visual, addictive and compelling, TV has enormous potential for creating and changing opinions. But due to the high cost of production, it's also the area of the media that young people have the least access to.

In January 1998, LOUD will address this situation by giving young people a go at producing, writing, directing and filming pieces for TV. Anything from short pieces focusing on themes of identity and place, to documentaries which voice their unique perspectives.

LOUD has secured airtime by joining forces with Network Ten, SBS, MTV, ABC, Channel V, Ovation and thecomedychannel. You can get involved even if you don't have any experience in TV or video production. LOUD's TV projects are open to all young people:

Our Place

    A documentary self portrait series, Our Place gives you the opportunity to show the rest of the nation what's it like round your place.
Loud Televised Short Film Festival
    This is your big chance to have your short film shown on TV.
Loud Bits
    To be shown on TV between programs, LOUD Bits are anything you want them to be, as long as they're between 30 seconds and 3 minutes in length and represent the word LOUD.
Artist Profiles
    LOUD will profile the most exciting and innovative young artists in the country on TV.
